In 2011, Henry’s life changed in just 45 minutes. A severe autoimmune condition called Transverse Myelitis attacked his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down and fully ventilator dependent. What could have been the end of his story became the beginning of a much deeper one.
Discovering Art
In 2015, while living with total paralysis, Henry picked up a Samsung Note 4 and a stylus held in his mouth. What started as simple curiosity exploded into passion after he created his first digital rose. In that moment, he realized: his body had limits, but his imagination did not.Since then, Henry has taught himself everything — digital painting, traditional drawing with pens, pencils, and brushes — all controlled entirely by his mouth. Years of daily practice, online learning, and unwavering discipline turned his skill into mastery.
Today
Henry now creates detailed portraits, wildlife art, inspirational pieces, and custom work rooted in faith, resilience, and hope. Every stroke is a testimony that pain does not get the final word — God, mindset, and creativity do. Living in an 8x8 ft room in a nursing home has not stopped him. Instead, it has sharpened his focus and deepened his message.
